Will the Snow Stay? February 24th - 28th

This week we are going to the Vancouver Symphony on Friday. We have learned in class about the famous composer Mozart and we will listen to more of the music of Mozart and Bach during our snack times. I have the free music app, Songza and it is easy to search and enjoy a variety of music this way.

Last week in Science we learned some rain facts and students shared what they already know about evaporation ("water gets sucked up into the air") . We furthered our study by heading outside to mark the water lines of two puddles. We observed when we return to the puddles hours later that they looked like they had less water and were drying up.

This week students will be exposed to the science of forces. We will learn about pushes and pulls.  We will also discuss and do tests pushing toy cars on different surfaces, leading us to an introduction to friction.

Finally,  I am pleased to announce that we have reserved a time to further this study of Forces on a field trip to Science World. We will be going to Science World on Thursday April 3rd, leaving shortly after attendance. Note:  This is our First Week Back after Spring Break. Notices will be going home soon and drivers are needed. There are science games to check out at scienceworld.ca/online-games.
