May 19 - 22nd

In Math we will be introducing coins this week. Could each student bring a baggie with an assortment of 10 coins? Please print your child's name on the baggie. We will do our best to send the baggie home in a couple of weeks. We will learn the names of the coins, count the coins and practise skip counting with the coins.
*For added challenge, grade ones will be introduced to the value of the coins. They can try counting up a total using different coins (for example a dime, a penny and a nickel). I will send home a parent sheet in case that you are interested in doing some coin math at home. The parent sheet will be geared for grade one parents.

Tuesday  Home Reading, Library, bring bag of coins labelled with your name

***Regarding Field Trips:
You may have read in the newsletter that we are going to Ladner Village on May 21st. That date is incorrect. The correct date is June 11th and permission forms for this trip will be going home on Wednesday.

Our next field trip is this Monday June 1st. Presently we do not have enough drivers for this trip. In some cases drivers are only taking one student. In order to make this trip possible I am wondering if drivers could allow for a second student to join them in the car ride. Please let me know A.S.A.P. skbennett@deltasd.bc.ca
