We have started bird research!

When I asked students: What do you you wonder about birds ? there were many different questions raised.

One question that was asked over and over again was:

How do birds fly?

Today we looked on youtube for some answers.

We recorded the following facts after viewing two short videos on you tube
 (1. Young birds learn to fly: Wild Warp episode 3 Earth Touch
and 2. How Do Birds Fly?  HooplaKidz TV)

-there is air in bird's bones to make them lighter for flying

-baby birds jump and flap their wings to practise for flying

-feathers help them fly

- a birds feet jump up and wings flap in order to fly
