Last week we had a great start to our Home Reading Program. Thanks to the volunteers that came to read. The students and I greatly appreciate your help. We will continue this program in December and then again in January. Please support your child at home by always returning the Home Reading Folder, whether you were able to read or not.
We will be going to Earthwise Garden in Tsawwassen to learn about worm composting. Last Friday I sent home a field trip notice. Please let me know right away if you are able to drive. The date is Tuesday November 25th at 1:00 - 2:30pm.

Last week we had a lesson on: Choosing Books to Read
Choosing a book is kind of like choosing what shoes you wear. They've got to be a good fit for you.
I - PICK GUIDE TO CHOOSING BOOKS
I I : I select a book and look it over inside and out
P PURPOSE: why might I want to read it?
I INTEREST: does it interest me?
C COMPREHEND: do I understand what I am reading?
K KNOW: do I know most of the words?
Many of our students are interested in lego. So perhaps a lego story or a building guide might be interesting. We also talked about if we are choosing a book for bedtime we might like a story about people.
Would we wear our beach shoes for the Peace March? Absolutely not! Beach shoes are for a different purpose. We need a runner for the Peace March.
